About 75 percent of Cheyenne’s drinking water comes from mountain streams in the Medicine Bow and Laramie Mountain Ranges. This water is treated and blended with ground water from the High Plains Aquifer. While Cheyenne’s water comes from several pristine sources, Spillman attributes its great taste to the efforts of the BOPU’s source of supply, treatment and distribution crews. “Our operators work very hard to supply safe and great tasting water to Cheyenne. Westland Road at West Lincolnway is closed unil Nov. 24; 24th Street from Pioneer Avenue to Capitol Avenue is closed for the rest of this week.
The intersection of 17th Street and Pioneer Avenue will be closed for about 10 days for the Carey/Pioneer Rehabilitation Project. Motorists traveling southbound will be detoured east on 19th Street and then to Central Avenue. The City’s transit transfer station, located between Pioneer Avenue and Carey Avenue on 17th Street, has been moved one block to the West. The new location will be a temporary for about three weeks. Transit riders will pick up their buses on the south side of 17th Street between Pioneer Avenue and Thomes Avenue. Also, Walterscheid Boulevard between Prosser Road and College Drive will be closed. Detour signs will be posted. The closure is scheduled for two weeks. Motorists are reminded to drive slowly in construction zones and to obey all traffic signs.
All bagged leaves need to be at the curb by 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2009.
